Social Battery

Look at your commitments together. Where does it get too full, and what could move to another day?

Social battery empty? Look at what surrounds an activity

An example day, not a schedule to copy. What feels restorative varies from person to person.

Morning
Work, including a meeting that takes a lot out of me.
After work
Leave some time without plans before deciding whether to go out.
Evening
Move the shopping to another day instead of fitting it in before a visit.
What changes
The visit stays in the diary, but it is no longer squeezed between other demands.
How to use this in the week planner

The example does not change your planner. Use your own experience to estimate the load of each activity. The numbers are planning aids, not measurements of your energy, and a break does not automatically cancel out an exhausting day.

Questions about this tool

What does an empty social battery mean?

It is a way of describing feeling drained after being around people. It is not a diagnosis. This planner helps you look at your schedule; it cannot tell you why you are exhausted.

Does the planner measure my energy?

No. You estimate how demanding each activity feels. The points make those estimates easier to compare, but they cannot predict how you will feel or how much rest you need.

What if my week is already too full?

Start with the next day rather than filling in everything. Look for one commitment you can shorten or move. If an obligation cannot change, leave the time around it open where possible.

Do I need to fill every gap?

No. An empty space can stay empty. You do not need to turn rest into another task or make the planner look balanced.
